Andrea Biani is a New Zealand business, owned and operated by Directors Andrea and Vern Bailey in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. They purchased the business in 1996 from the original founder of the Andrea Biani Brand, Sebastiano ‘John’ Perillo. Perillo was an Italian immigrant who worked in the footwear industry for nearly seven decades. During the 1960’s Perillo created his first pair of shoes in a shed out the back of his family's New Lynn, Auckland home. 

Today, Andrea and Vern honour the brands history by continuing to design all Andrea Biani branded footwear here in Aotearoa. The manufacturing process takes place in Guangzhou, China where they visit annually to meet with the small team to create our handcrafted shoes. The factory is also a family owned and operated business and the workers are paid above a living wage and in ethical conditions. We have maintained this relationship for over 20 years! We pride ourselves on both creating and sourcing the best footwear ranges from international and local brands, helping kiwis find a great pair of shoes.

Fashionable shoes are what Andrea and Vern know and love. Having both been in the footwear industry for all of their working lives, they are true experts with a phenomenal passion.

“We both started selling shoes when we left school and moved through the ranks to be able to manage our own stores…both at the young age of 21! We met in Wellington and after experiencing the corporate world of shoe retailing, we moved to Christchurch in 1996 and purchased Andrea Biani.” - Andrea Bailey.

Our mission at Andrea Biani is to bring you the absolute best footwear ranges from local and international brands. Sourcing new products for the seasons ahead are often inspired by the people we meet and seeking out new trends that we can interpret to our local market here in New Zealand.

No job is too big or small for the husband and wife duo, Andrea and Vern both help out where they are needed on top of their Directorial duties. Whether it is unpacking stock or covering a shift instore, they aren't above working hard for their passion. You will often see Vern buzzing around Christchurch in the Andrea Biani van, making sure the store shelves are topped up with new styles and sizes and that your customer orders are fulfilled! While we source great shoes from every corner of the globe, our central mission is our own Andrea Biani brand. We work passionately every season to bring you styles that will be loved and worn for years to come, and are always focused on the ethical and environmental processes to do so.
